Discover the Old Town of Dresden. And so much more

Dresden is a city with a very turbulent and moving history. You will encounter it at every turn. Experience the Old Town with an incredible wealth of architectural works. Above all, you can find cultural highlights here.  The Zwinger represents an architectural milestone. You will be inspired by its impressive Kronentor (crowned gate) and unique masonry. Stroll through the magnificent gardens. There, you can enjoy the view of the palace, one of the most impressive masterpieces of European Baroque architecture. The imposing Semperoper is situated not far away. It, too, is world-famous. It was built in the style of the Italian High Renaissance and is one of the most beautiful opera houses in the world. Take this opportunity to attend an opera. The elaborate moulding and the many beautiful paintings are certainly worth seeing.

The recent history of the Frauenkirche is dramatic and moving. During the last days of the war, this building too fell victim to the firebombing. After over 60 years, the incredible happened. People from all over the world engaged in an unprecedented initiative for its reconstruction. Today it shines in new splendour. As a monument to peace. But not only the Old Town of Dresden is full of surprises. The surrounding area, too. One of the most beautiful parks in Germany, the Baroque "Großer Garten" is only a 10-minute walk from the hotel.

If you fancy a car excursion, many other interesting locations can be found not far from Dresden. For example, a visit to the porcelain-manufacturing city of Meissen is worth the trip. An excursion to Schloss Moritzburg is another option. The many haunted castles along the Elbe are also worth a look. Particularly interesting is Schloss Pillnitz with its paradisiacal gardens. These are home to the oldest camellia plant in Europe. Dresden and the surrounding area will keep you wonderfully entertained.
